ABOUT MARIA VITORIA ROSA SYPNIEVSKI
Mavi is a student at Tufts University, located in Boston, majoring in Biomedical Engineering. In the gap semester she took after HS graduation, she pioneered the first Brazilian Talk Show about the application process, having aired weekly 1-hour episodes over the past ten months. Managing more than 40 volunteers across 5 teams, and impacting more than 300 students, she has a keen interest in social service and project management. Mavi has a vast experience in fundraising, having spearheaded bake sales, clothing drives, and a R$40K crowdfunding campaign to purchase a respirator cleaner for a local elderly hospital. One of her main academic interests during High School was Physics. Her Physics IA (Research Paper) on the Leidenfrost Effect for the IB (International Baccalaureate) has earned her credentials as a finalist in the third largest science fair in the world - ICYS and a \"Science Without Borders\" Award in the Brazilian Fair of Young Scientists. She has also been deeply involved in varsity sports since her Freshman year (starting lineup), earning the spot as team captain during her Junior and Senior years for volleyball and basketball, and being a member of the Soccer team.
