About Maria Startseva
I am a researcher, behavioural strategist, and a founding member of a venture studio that accelerates path-to-impact of scientific discovery in climate space. I gravitate towards in-depth discussions on complex subjects that excite a few and impact many. This has led me to collaborate with early-stage teams solving hard problems, helping them refine their ideas, articulate value and get ready to secure funding. Earlier in my career, I helped top-tier companies digitally transform, innovate and drive growth using behaviour-based strategies combined with data, technology, and forward-looking narratives. In some of the past projects, we merged behavioural insight with product design to improve users’ financial outcomes, created methods and tools for scientists to make system-aware decisions, created data-driven approach to bolster corporate innovation while reducing decision bias and risk. I’ve also helped designed a new accelerator for green start-ups for one of the Netherlands’ oldest private banks and explored the potential of cognitive technologies in the finance sector.
