About Maria Schmidlkofer

My estate planning practice emphasizes estate tax planning for families, as well as farm and business succession planning. I help clients develop many types of trusts for tax planning, asset protection, special needs beneficiaries, gifting and charitable giving. I also assist clients with guardianships, conservatorships and probate. A comprehensive estate plan includes planning for incapacity as well as transferring assets after death. I focus on trust-based planning to keep everything private, stay out of court and ensure a smooth transition in the event of disability or death. I also oversee Trust Administrations and Settlements, including the preparation of state and federal estate tax returns. Trust and Estate Law is about creating ongoing relationships with clients who become friends. As friends, I watch out for my clients’ best interests by listening to their goals and using my expertise to ensure their estate plan fulfills those goals. Every client and every meeting is unique which keeps my job fresh and fun.
