ABOUT MARIA OLEKSIAK
I work best where people, processes and good communication meet. Supporting teams with organisation, accuracy and a calm, practical approach. Over time, I’ve realised my strongest lane sits at the intersection of people, process and reporting, where compliance and clear decision making matter. That’s why my current development isn’t two random directions. It supports one clear goal: becoming strong in business support / people operations roles.I’m completing the CIPD qualification in People Practice, which is helping me build solid HR foundations: supporting recruitment and onboarding, working with policies and basic employment law, and using evidence rather than assumptions when making recommendations.Alongside that, I’m studying BA (Hons) Business Management (Accounting)(previously BSc (Hons) Accounting & Finance) with The Open University. I refined my degree programme after guidance from the university, not to change direction, but to align it better with my plan. This route keeps the accounting foundation while adding a broader business and operations context- how organisations run day-to-day- how reporting supports planning- and how decisions impact teams and outcomes.Combined, this gives me a practical mix. Someone who can support people processes and understands the business context: costs, reporting, risk and operational impact. That’s the value I want to bring to roles such as HR/People Ops Support, Payroll/HR Administration, or Business Operations Support. If you work in these areas and value reliable support, structured thinking and a positive, professional approach, I’m always happy to connect.
