As a member of MetLife’s Executive Group, Maria Morris held a number of senior positions at the company before retiring in September 2017. In her most recent role as Executive Vice President, Global Employee Benefits, Maria was responsible for double-digit growth of MetLife’s employee benefits business across 40 countries outside the U.S. She achieved this through fostering relationships with multinational corporations, distribution partnerships with financial institutions and building out local capabilities. Maria also served as Interim Head of MetLife’s U.S. Business from January 2016 to July 2017. In this role she led business segments, generating approximately 60% of MetLife Inc.’s total operating earnings. From 2008 to 2011, Maria led Global Technology and Operations for MetLife where she was responsible for a $1.6B technology portfolio and a $2.7B procurement/occupancy budget. In addition to her executive roles, Maria has served on a number of Boards, including S&P Global, Inc. and Wells Fargo. At S&P Global, Maria is Chair of the Audit Committee and member of the Financial Policy Committee. At Wells Fargo, Maria serves on several committees, including the Risk, Regulatory Compliance and Oversight, and Human Resources Committees. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New York and is National Chair of the All Stars Project, Inc. Maria is also the former National Board Chair of INROADS Inc.
