About Maria Marmarinos

Ms. Marmarinos is the President of Catalyst Group, a consulting practice focused on strategic planning and corporate development including private placements, joint ventures, licensing transactions, and mergers and acquisitions, for emerging life science companies worldwide. Ms. Marmarinos is also a consultant to the MRDC (Medical Response for the Diplomatic Corp) in Albania. Prior to creating Catalyst Group, she was a co-founder, Executive Vice President, and Treasurer of NitroMed, Inc. a publicly traded biopharmaceutical company. She also served as the Executive Vice President of Corporate Development for Sequella, Inc, a life science company focused on improving the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis. Ms. Marmarinos, as former Assistant Vice President, Ventures at Brigham & Women’s Hospital (Harvard Medical School) in Boston, and New Products Manager, Worldwide Marketing Development, and Product Marketing Manager - North America at Corning Medical and Ciba-Corning, has extensive experience in marketing, technology transfer, and business development, and in the formation of early stage high technology companies. She received the President’s Marketing Council Achievement Award for outstanding marketing program from Corning Glass Works. Ms. Marmarinos was also an instructor of Medical Microbiology at Nassau College. Ms. Marmarinos is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Terezin Chamber Music Foundation, and the Bostonian Society. Ms. Marmarinos is a Member of the Corporation of Partners HealthCare, Inc, and a member of the Board of Overseers of Brigham & Women\'s Hospital. She is a past member of the board of Grub Street, and Club Passim (48 Palmer, Inc.). Ms. Marmarinos is a graduate of Hofstra University, where she was awarded the distinction of Provost’s Scholar.
