Maria retired in 2025 after more than 30 years in the upstream energy industry, most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Geology at Antero Resources, where she led geological strategy supporting the development of natural gas, NGL, and oil assets across the Appalachian Basin. Her career centered on building high-performing technical organizations and aligning subsurface insight with business strategy.In leadership roles at Raisa Energy, WPX Energy, HGC, Inc, and earlier with BP Amoco, Maria guided teams through exploration strategy, resource evaluation, business development, and technical due diligence across major U.S. basins and international projects. Her work supported opportunity screening, strategic planning, and long-term asset performance.Developing people was as important to her as developing assets. She mentored geologists and technical leaders across career stages and built organizations grounded in scientific rigor, collaboration, and practical execution.While now retired from day-to-day executive leadership, Maria remains engaged with the energy and geoscience community and maintains a strong interest in exploration strategy, subsurface evaluation, and resource development. She welcomes opportunities to contribute at the board or advisory level where geological expertise and executive leadership experience can support sound decision-making and long-term value.Maria is a licensed Professional Geologist and NACD Directorship Certified®, with experience serving in board and advisory roles within the energy industry.
