ABOUT MARIA ELENI F.
Hey there! My name is Marlen (Maria + Eleni), and I\'m currently doing research at the University of Toronto, using spatial transcriptomics methods. I enjoy the challenge of extracting meaning from complex datasets, and I\'m always eager to discover novel technologies. This year so far, I have focused on the vulnerability of the maternal brain towards neuropsychiatric disorders. Understanding the brain and its dynamics is something I thought about since my IB diploma studies in my home country, Greece. I got to explore this further through my Biomedicine studies (BSc.) at Karolinska Institutet, which led me to discover neuroscience within Sweden, in Europe, and beyond! I am very passionate about science communication and knowledge sharing; I like to say that new findings become exciting only once you get your story right.
