Experienced Vice President of Product Development with a demonstrated history of working in the computer software industry, focused on transformational education. Skilled in managing product development teams, educators, designers and support staff. Comfortable leading in start-ups as well as large enterprise environments. Co-founder, Acuitus, Inc. focused on transforming lives through impactful education. In concert with DARPA – the nation’s premiere research organization – the US Navy, Army and Air Force, the Gates Foundation, Schmidt Futures and Stanford, we have spent over ten years developing a program to quickly transform entry-level military personnel, veterans and civilians into highly competent, senior-level ITs. The program builds around a thousand hours of total immersion, where each participant is expected to solve hundreds of very hard design, configuration and troubleshooting problems quickly and on their own, but where each participant also has a dedicated, exceptional, expert IT mentor/tutor. The results in the military have been stunning – graduates quickly rise to the top of their commands. A majority of our veteran graduates land senior-level IT roles, coming from little-to-no technical experience, and where many were under- or unemployed. We will use the same methodology and focus to transform mathematics education.
