ABOUT MARIA CAPLAN CSSD
Earning my Registered Dietitian (RD), Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), and Master of Science in Nutrition (MS), has allowed me to provide my nutrition expertise in a variety of settings. I believe wellness or holistic care is a positive baseline for any health field and having extra training and education in this area enables me to provide a fresh outlook to organizations. I have been lucky to obtain a plethora of skills in health, delivering information through a variety of modalities including one-on-one consultations, program development and implementation, as well as teaching in the classroom, clinical care, and working with special populations including, adolescents and geriatrics. I also have special training working with eating disorders and sports nutrition, including post graduate coursework on supplement research and utilization. My managerial experience encompasses leading employees, students, interns, and volunteers since 2011 in both higher education and health care settings. Since 2017, I have been working in the long term care setting, for both a large food service management company, and most recently an East Coast based health care organization. I was able to move through the ranks of these companies from Clinical Dietitian, to Clinical Nutrition Manager, to Dining Service Manager, and now Regional Dietitian. My goal is to continue learning and growing as a professional in the health and wellness field. I am also an avid athlete, having been a collegiate triathlete and equestrian, now active in all things outdoors!
