About Maria Lang Hernandez

I walked into a manufacturing plant when I was. able to walk. As the daughter of an engineer I spent hours watching my father build teams based on understanding and trust. I loved it. On weekends when my friends were watching cartoons he was teaching me to observe, listen, and be patient. I knew I wanted to use these skills to creatively solve problems, eliminate waste, and to build confidence in those around me. I became an engineer.After college I was hired as a process engineer for the startup of P&G’s new lean manufacturing site. Being part of a startup taught me how many cogs are needed to make a company move. I gained a deep understanding of how systems are designed to interact in order to make a final product. I effectively learned how ask the right questions in order to master a system in a short period of time. This allows me to hit the ground running, to see issues, to find solutions, and to increase efficiency.Through the years I have learned how to manage high-performing teams while simultaneously leading projects that were aligned with the company\'s goals. I successfully bridge the gap between the business side of a company and the technical/operations perspective resulting in logical solutions.I believe in people; that they want to do the right thing and it is my job to set them up for success. I use the skills my father taught me to help others. I am a firm believer in the sharing of information; that the more knowledge a person has the more informed their decisions are, resulting in safer, more efficient actions and reactions.I walk the line between introvert and extrovert, I absolutely love making someone else’s day brighter. I thrive in a fast paced team environment where people are valued more than the product. When not working, you can find me outside exploring or on my porch with a book. I love to travel, am a yoga instructor, and the least exciting member of a therapy dog team- my dog is the star.
