ABOUT MARIA ALAPPAT
With a background in chemical engineering and computer science, I am a Data Engineer at Texas Instruments, where I build and optimize data pipelines and models for image classification in the semiconductor manufacturing line. I use tools such as TensorFlow, Docker, PostgreSQL, and Oracle to create inference and training frameworks that achieve high precision and recall rates with limited data sets and small model sizes. I have also created dashboards that monitors and visualizes the performance and health of the models and pipelines, enabling timely and data-driven decisions and actions. Previously, I worked as a Process Engineer and an Equipment Engineer at Texas Instruments and Samsung Austin Semiconductor, respectively, where I coordinated, executed, and improved various processes and equipment for front-end-of-line silicon etch and immersion photolithography. I collaborated across departments, analyzed and presented data, and trained new engineers and technicians. I am currently pursuing my Master of Science degree in Computer Science at Georgia Tech Online, where I learn advanced topics in artificial intelligence, computer vision, and machine learning. My goal is to leverage my education and experience to develop innovative and efficient solutions using cutting edge technologies that AI and Computer Vision have to offer.
