On June 1st I began a new position! I am privileged to serve as an Assistant Professor, Counselor, at the Allan Hancock University Transfer Center (UTC). I work closely with those students that have been identified as disproportionately impacted by the College\'s Student Equity Plan including economically disadvantaged students, Latino, males and students with disabilities; lead the Transfer Achievement Program (TAP), a comprehensive support program within the Transfer Center designed to facilitate the transfer of ethnically underrepresented, first-generation, and low-income students to four-year universities; provide academic academic, career, occupational and personal guidance and counseling for prospective, new and continuing students in the UTC; participate in curriculum development; act as liaison with feeder high schools; provide job market and career information to individuals and groups; assist in developing student education plans; plan and refer students who require special college or community services; act as consultant to other faculty regarding student performance and retention; am actively involved in the planning implementation of program\'s Student Learning Outcomes; participate on departmental and other committees for policy development, identifying organizational goals and objective and perform other duties as assigned.
