About Mari Amend
I\'m an artist and embroidery teacher passionate about making creative practice accessible, joyful, and transformative for everyone.With over 25 years of artistic practice beginning in childhood, I discovered embroidery in 2020 and found my creative home. Today, I create multimedia embroidered artworks, custom embroidered clothing and hats, and work across various mediums, including fabric paint and mixed-media design. My work has been exhibited at the Rock Paper Scissor Collective and featured at local craft markets.As an educator, I facilitate year-long embroidery circles, multi-month workshops, and one-off sessions for adult learners at all skill levels. My teaching philosophy centers on the whole person—I believe that however you arrive is valid, and that learning should be a supportive experience that honors both the challenges and joys of developing new skills.Beyond fiber arts, I bring experience in facilitation and community building, having led racial justice workshops supporting white individuals in unlearning racism.I\'m committed to empowering people to embrace their creativity, discover what brings them joy, and build confidence in their artistic voice—one stitch at a time.
