About Margot Francini

I am a science-policy analyst with interdisciplinary experience in environmental science, regulatory analysis, and public health. Currently an MPA-ESP Candidate at Columbia University (SIPA and Climate School), I am passionate about collaborating across science and policy domains to inform strategic environmental decision-making.My previous experience spans PFAS policy analysis, climate governance, and air quality research, with contributions to both peer-reviewed scientific findings and US state-level policy recommendations. I am skilled in data analysis (R), laboratory methods including mass spectrometry, and policy writing for government and academic partners. I am also proficient in Spanish and Portuguese, and bilingual in Italian and English. My interests include climate policy, environmental justice, and both regulatory and legal approaches to pollution remediation.    Conduct policy research on PFAS regulation, destruction, classification, and toxicological implications- Write policy briefs, white papers, and internal reports alongside a dedicated student team- Presented project \"Forever No More: Proposed Designation of PFAS as Hazardous Substances & Emerging Destruction Methods\" at the Celebration of Undergraduate Research at UNC-CH, won second place for Sustainable Carolina\'s Research Award
