Ma. Margarita “Margie” S. Lim is a licensed attorney in Texas, New York, and the Philippines, with a strong background in regulatory compliance, public policy, and commercial litigation. She currently serves as an Associate at the Office of Regulatory Relations at Goldman Sachs.Margie began her legal career at Angara, Abello, Concepcion, Regala, and Cruz Law Offices (ACCRALAW), one of the Philippines’ leading law firms, where she represented multinational corporations before trial courts, the Philippine Court of Appeals, and various government agencies. She then transitioned to Aboitiz Power Corporation, a major energy company in the Philippines, where she advised on legal, compliance, and regulatory matters and represented the company before energy regulators and other industry stakeholders.Prior to relocating to the U.S, Margie led the legal, regulatory affairs, and policy analysis team at the US-ASEAN Business Council’s Philippine office. In this role, she advocated for multinational companies’ interests in the country, represented them before government agencies and the Philippine Congress, and advanced regional digital policy issues, including AI ethics, cloud technology, and digital taxation, across Southeast Asia.Margie earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Business Regulation, Litigation, and Arbitration from New York University School of Law in 2020. She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of the Philippines College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Ateneo de Manila University.
