ABOUT MARGERY SHELTON

My work reflects three strong interests: Designing and facilitating complex dialogues, the transformational effects of non-ordinary states of consciousness, and women\'s leadership development. In dialogue work, the elements of presence, making agreements, and designing flexible structure are ones that are consistent in all dialogues whether between two people or one hundred and fifty. I have designed and facilitated dialogues for up to 160 people. Throughout my career, I\'ve been fascinated and moved by the effects of non-ordinary states of consciousness. My psychotherapy practice includes hypnosis, mindfulness practices, and psychedelic therapy preparation and integration. My approach to my work is grounded in social constructionist theory and practice and informed by over 35 years of psychotherapy practice that has included offering training throughout the US, Europe, and New Zealand, providing supervision, designing and implementing training programs, and servicing as Clinical Director in three different agencies. My professional education, experience, and interests range from psychotherapy to organization development. For over 35 years I have been involved with change work in systems of many sizes. I received my Master in Social Work from the University of Iowa. At the Taos Institute and Tilburg University in the Netherlands, I studied Organization Development with an emphasis on Leadership. My interest in leadership development, particularly with women leaders, grew out of my experience as Director of counseling centers which, in addition to providing psychotherapy, also served as training sights for psychotherapist trainees and interns. The wealth of experience gained in my role as Director enriches my consulting with non-profits and working with women leaders.
