ABOUT MARGARITA KONAEV
Dr. Margarita (Rita) Konaev is the Head of Responsible AI at Google Public Sector. Previously, she was the Deputy Director of Analysis at Georgetown\'s Center for Security and Emerging Technology, where she managed a portfolio of research projects on the applications and implications of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies across the public sector, geopolitics, defense and national security. Her research and commentary on international security and technology has been published by Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, Lawfare, and War on the Rocks, as well as by media outlets such as ABC News, BBC Radio, Bloomberg, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, NPR, The Economist, Axios, Vox, Time, Newsweek and others. Previously, she was a Non-Resident Fellow with the Modern War Institute at West Point, a post-doctoral fellow at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perry World House. Before joining CSET, Dr. Konaev worked as a Senior Principal in the Marketing and Communication practice at Gartner. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame, an M.A. in Conflict Resolution from Georgetown University, and a B.A. from Brandeis University.
