ABOUT MARGARET WDOWIAK
Embracing the Unexpected: My Journey in HR, Operations & BeyondLife is full of surprises, and some of the best opportunities come when we least expect them.I once dreamed of becoming a journalist, traveling the world to uncover stories of injustice. But during my master\'s in journalism, I realized that my true passion lay elsewhere. In April 2022, I returned to my HR roots, building on my Bachelor\'s in Industrial and Labour Relations.I started as a Junior HR Analyst at Pratt & Whitney, where I combined my communication and HR expertise to support employees across Raytheon Technologies in Canada. As the first point of contact, I assisted unionized and non-unionized employees with benefits, leave management, onboarding, and HR systems in a bilingual environment.Seeking growth, I transitioned to Akkodis in October 2023 as an Operations Specialist for the Aerospace business unit. I supported various consultant populations with onboarding, time entry, and engagement. However, my role extended beyond administrative tasks—I focused on building strong relationships, conducting care-taking calls, launching a quarterly newsletter, and organizing client-site networking lunches to keep billable colleagues connected.Growing Beyond OperationsIn September 2024, my role expanded to cover the entire engineering division, and by February 2025, I was promoted to Operations Specialist for all Akkodis branches in Quebec, including both Engineering and IT. I now support a diverse consultant base while leading engagement initiatives through quarterly and bi-yearly care-taking calls.Eager to develop new skills, I completed a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification in December 2024, igniting my passion for process improvement and project management. I’m now deepening my knowledge through online courses in both project management and marketing.Beyond Work: Passion for Events & EngagementSince 2024, I’ve been an active member of the Akkodis Social Club, organizing company-wide events such as the summer BBQ, Christmas party, and monthly team outings. My role involves coordinating external activities, which has strengthened my event planning skills—a growing passion I hope to explore further. With a strong foundation in HR, operations, project management, and event planning, I’m excited about where my journey will take me next. I embrace new opportunities with enthusiasm, always eager to learn, grow, and make an impact.
