About Margaret do
My passion for the environment has led me to explore multitude of ways to communicate and bridge people to the environment: through ocean policy advocacy, film storytelling coordination, data visualization, tide pool interpretation, and community outreach.I have a Bachelor of Science in Marine and Coastal Science and a Minor in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning from UC Davis and an Associates in GIS from San Diego Mesa College.I’m open to new opportunities to expand my GIS skills within various fields and looking to gain a deeper understanding of various GIS data/database models and quantitative analysis methods. Some spheres I would like to be involved with, but not limited to are: marine science, environmental policy, science communication, sustainability, environmental justice, and higher education.

I manage and oversee our inventory of trees and planting sites throughout San Diego on our GIS platform (TreePlotter) in order to design, plan, implement, and support select TSD projects, programs and prospective grants (including pulling tree ecological benefit data for project and program reporting and using ArcGIS to create maps reflecting our work for internal use and board presentations). Additionally, I assist with mapping, tracking, and updating tree and urban forestry data for ongoing state and federal projects with our partner organizations and teach GIS in Urban Forestry as part of Tree San Diego\'s Workforce Development programs.
