ABOUT MARGARET MARGIE MAZZARELLA

16 years\' experience with a focus on grant writing to fund international and local development programs. Experience: prospect research, capture, proposal and budget development, grant/proposal writing, and project coordination to foster additional funding. Currently serving as lead grant writer for international non-profit, Water For People. From 2014 to 2019, coordinated research proposals and projects for water and sanitation research. From 2010 to 2014, I developed and wrote ~30 proposals that generated more than $75 million:$57 million from the USAID,$9.9 million from World Bank,$3.95 million from CARE\'s Canadian and European donors,$3.6 million from Canada\'s Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) and $1 million from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). These efforts funded development programs in health, housing, water and sanitation, disaster relief, community development and assistance for disadvantaged populations. I have created long-term strategies, conducted research on new business opportunities, written grants, worked closely with technical experts on proposal development and work planning, drafted budgets, and supported projects post-award. Project support consisted of liaising with partners and multilateral agencies, tracking project monitoring and evaluation data and writing reports for three grants ($9.5 million). Proposals were tailored to the requirements of: World Bank, UNICEF and other UN Agencies, USAID, CDC, the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), US Environmental Protection Agency, National Science Foundation, Canada\'s DFATD, the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), and U.S. and European foundations and corporations. Worked in Haiti (more than 1 year), Kenya, Chad, Zimbabwe, the Dominican Republic, West Bank, and Indonesia (short-term assignments). My roles have required a high-level of integrity, diplomacy, professionalism, attention to detail and adherence to tight deadlines.
