ABOUT MARGARET LAIDLAW
I am a highly passionate people leader, relationship builder, mentor, and inclusion, diversity & wellbeing advocate. Everyone has a different background, story, lived experience and I am driven by the need to ensure everyone can bring their true self to work. Mazars shares these same values and has always supported me to drive change in these areas. This has led me to my recent roles as Head of Inclusion, Diversity and Wellbeing to now Head of People. I currently help to shape the firm’s people strategy and culture. We are dedicated to ensuring everyone can share their diverse perspectives and feel at home at Mazars. This ultimately enables us to deliver quality for our clients, create change and make an impact together. Over the last 30 years I have also been advising privately owned businesses from start-up to fast growing SMEs and established businesses on everything from strategic growth to the importance of digitisation, exit planning and preparations for sale. As well as being a Chartered Accountant, I am a STEP-qualified family business advisor and have supported these businesses on issues including ownership structure, succession, family governance and financial planning helping them achieve success, both in business and for their family. In addition to my UK role I sit on the International Privately Owned Business Board, a role which provides great insight into entrepreneurial and privately-owned businesses globally.
