ABOUT MARGARET IKPOH
At the intersection of clinical excellence, inclusive leadership, and transformative education, I lead national initiatives that shape the future of general practice and healthcare research. As Vice-Chair for Professional Development and Training Standards at the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), I oversee CPD strategy, exam standards, and conference programming, ensuring that professional development in general practice remains rigorous, relevant, and inclusive. In my role as National Settings Lead for Primary Care at the NIHR Research Delivery Network, I collaborate across sectors to strengthen research delivery, foster innovation, and improve patient outcomes, especially for under-served communities.Equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging are at the heart of my work as a jobbing family physician. I’ve led impactful EDI training for GP educators, medical committees, GP Practices (and even Cardiac surgeons!), designed community engagement strategies, and advocated for inclusive healthcare systems that reflect the needs of all populations. My educational approach is dynamic and values-driven, combining curriculum design, keynote speaking, and hands-on facilitation to empower professionals and uplift communities. My mission is clear: to bridge the gap between research and practice, and to build a healthcare system where every voice is heard, every patient is valued, and every practitioner is equipped to lead with compassion and purpose.Let’s connect if you’re passionate about inclusive healthcare, transformative education, or collaborative innovation!
