In my current role, I develop course curriculum and support students in learning basic and advanced fundamentals in art, multimedia, computer programming, and design. I create assignment and project objectives and evaluate student understanding and application of artistic concepts with technology. I complete presentations and lectures on historical and modern art, technology, and artists. I utilize multimedia and reading material to provide lesson examples and lead discussions based on critical questions. I also design tests, grade exams, and provide additional support through development of online classroom material. Key Accomplishments- Created and led immersive and professional internships in the business community for 700+ students of diverse backgrounds and learning abilities- Encouraged students to become powerful art advocates in the classroom and the community at large through educational partnerships with nonprofits such as the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, Museum of Photographic Arts San Diego, San Diego Museum of Art, and Sushi Performance Arts Center- Collaborated with other outside educational institutions such as UCSD’s 6th College in a practicum program to promote mentoring and an inclusive community experience through academics and media production for 150 diverse high school students and 27 undergrads from UCSD- Designed an open-access online computer-programming course with tutorials modeled on visual literacy which have demonstrated successful results inside and outside the classroom in supporting English Language Learners and students with special needs to access curriculum materials.
