As at the start of 2018 we reached a milestone of helping over patients and carers. Whilst most organisations would celebrate that, to do so is really bittersweet. Whilst it is terribly sad that we\'ve helped so many people who are nearing end of life, I guess the positive is, that if we hadn\'t helped these people I don\'t know who or where they would have sought help.This year is already proving to be a good year as we have a new Chair, Peter Le Beau, who is already making his mark. We are also setting up a local steering group of specialist health professionals in areas of cancer, MND, Dementia, MS, COPD, Learning Disabilities and Stroke. These specialists provide insight and guidance so that we can continue to improve our service and support them in their work so that together we can provide a more integrated approach to patient support.We have also set up an Advisory Board which will be based in London. This is purely so that we can start to look at the bigger picture of developing LegaCare which will enable us to help patients across the UK and those who have kindly offered to come on the Board have contacts, knowledge and ideas and truly get what we do and that\'s why they want to help.
