The International Longevity Centre (ILC) Canada is part of a Global Alliance of seventeen Centres spanning five continents that conduct international, interdisciplinary work that focuses on the potential of societies to live longer/healthier lives (see ilc-alliance.org).ILC Canada is committed to: Advocating for the needs and rights of older people, especially related to the provision of health and long-term care;Conducting training, research and policy development to identify ways through which people can lead healthy, fulfilling and active lives through the life course;Ensuring that older people have opportunities to be socially and civilly engaged and to enlighten the public about the resources older people possess ad contribute to society;Devise societies where human rights and dignity of all people are respected and where people are enabled to enjoy their longevity in productive meaningful ways; andBe a valuable resource for policy makers, governments, industry, academic intuitions and other stakeholders on matters pertaining to healthy aging.
