I lead teams in London and Hyderabad exploring the exciting trends in financial services and real estate. In banking, we have looked at culture, talent and deleveraging. We have also examined the disruption being caused by technology and regulation in banking, and specifically in payments. We\'ve also analysed disruption in the insurance market. While certain general insurance markets, e.g. motor, have been commoditised by the internet and the rise of price-comparison websites, we believe that other developments, such as telematics and wearables, could change the nature of insurance and enable insurers to partner with their customers in risk reduction as well as in loss remediation. Our Life insurance futures paper examines the strategies that life companies can adopt to mitigate the threat posed by asset managers in the wake of the UK\'s pensions \'freedom\'. This removed the effective requirement for those retiring to buy an annuity. Seismic shifts, produced in collaboration with the Economist Intelligence Unit, looks at how investment management is being upended by forces such as the rise of passive over active fund management and the shift from institutional to retail investors.
