She also led Fannie Mae’s legal department strategy, overseeing teams dedicated to developing high-performing talent; optimizing productivity, costs, and efficiencies; and understanding the legal issues relating to emerging technology.Prior to Fannie Mae, Margaret was a senior associate in Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe’s structured finance group. While there, she negotiated and structured 100+ securitizations and other deals on behalf of public and private top capital market financial institutions.Margaret believes in building legal teams that serve as true partners to the business not only through technical legal expertise, but also through creating a culture of trust, practicality, collaboration, and diversity of thought—a blend of principles that achieves the best possible strategic outcomes.
