About Marcy Walsh
Marcy currently serves as the Client Services Manager at CancerLINC, a non-profit helping cancer patients and their families overcome legal and financial challenges when they need it the most. In this role, she manages the team connecting cancer patients to needed help, manages volunteer engagement and activation, and leads program improvement. Additionally, Marcy works on a contract-basis with EnCircle to provide visitation coaching to families. She also is contracted to conduct Home Studies for people hoping to become foster parents. Prior to earning her MSW, Marcy worked in executive positions in Richmond, Va, Los Angeles, Calif, and New York, NY in a marketing communications firm. Marcy was vice president of PadillaCRT (CRT/tanaka before acquisition) New York, and prior to that a vice president and general manager of the agency\'s Los Angeles office. Marcy focused on consumer education, cause and issues marketing, consumer products and services, and behavior. In this role, she was responsible for strategic planning, branding, education and awareness, media relations, cause marketing, crisis planning, business-to-business marketing and work quality for national and international non-profit and for-profit organizations. While at the agency, Marcy developed many notable campaigns. Her work includes developing: the Medicine Abuse Project with Partnership for Drugfree kids to combat the misuse and abuse of prescription drugs; nutrition and food marketing campaigns for Avocados from Mexico; Coppertone\'s campaign for a new product line; Air New Zealand\'s Pink and Matchmaking flights; the Schwab Financial Literacy initiative; and Target’s Ready. Sit. Read! early childhood literacy initiative. While working on campaigns for important social issues, Marcy wanted to more directly work with the communities affected by these issues and to create opportunities for durable change. To that end, Marcy earned a Master of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Marcy also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has been recognized with dozens of industry awards.
