About Marcus Croom
As the author of \"Real Talk? How to Discuss Race, Racism, and Politics in 21st Century American Schools\"(Croom, 2021), I am an experienced educator and educational researcher who is committed to leading work that cultivates more human fulfillment and mitigates human suffering. As a racially Black, American, social science expert I use interdisciplinary research and experience to support the development of racial literacies and thereby advance the justice, antiracism, curriculum studies, public health, and political-economic efforts of universities, schools, businesses, organizations, communities, and individuals. My projects, publications, grants, and presentations are focused on Interdisciplinary Race Critical Inquiry (e.g. race, literacy, survey, case study, discourse-practice analysis, Practice of Race Theory or PRT). I deliver results by supporting students, teachers, faculties, and administrators toward practicing race critical, anti-deficit approaches to schooling in suburban and urban communities in the USA and similar contexts around the world (e.g. Westernized contexts in African, South American, Asian, or European countries).
