About Marcus Alenius
I’m a sophomore at Carnegie Mellon University studying information systems and artificial intelligence. I am passionate about the intersection of people and technology – creating technology that unlocks our full potential while making it less obtrusive, almost invisible to us.In particular, I am interested in combining interaction design with artificial intelligence – using machine learning and artificial intelligence to make interactions feel natural and intuitive. Like with Kenboard, where I developed a typing error correction system to make text input work just as one would expect. The realization that technology is never the end goal, that the end goal is always the user, and that technology should be an invisible tool that aids and empowers the user, guides my work. During my summer with CMU’s Human-Computer Interaction Institute, I researched and developed intelligent tutoring systems for community college students. The goal: provide personalized learning support to IT students – making digital economy jobs accessible to everyone.Take a look at my website, alenius.io, to learn more about me and my projects.
