As the Safeties Coach at Iowa Central, I’m responsible for developing and leading a competitive defensive back unit within a Top-15 nationally ranked NJCAA program. My focus is on building disciplined, high-IQ players who excel in technique, preparation, and leadership both on and off the field. • Player Development: Coach and mentor student-athletes to maximize their potential, with multiple players currently holding Division I scholarship offers. • Recruiting: Oversee recruiting efforts throughout the Twin Cities area (Minnesota) — leveraging my local ties to identify and develop talent that fits our program’s culture and standard of excellence. • Game & Film Preparation: Contribute to weekly defensive game plans, film breakdown, and opponent scouting to ensure our secondary is fundamentally sound and prepared to compete at a high level. • Culture & Mentorship: Emphasize accountability, effort, and belief — helping student-athletes grow as leaders and young men beyond football.

ABOUT MARCUS H.

Originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, I’m a proud East Ridge High School graduate and former three-sport athlete. My football journey took me across multiple collegiate levels — from Concordia University St. Paul (First-Team All-American, 2018 Cliff Harris Award finalist) to Iowa Western Community College (NJCAA First-Team All-American), and ultimately to Liberty University, where I was part of a Top 25 nationally ranked program and earned Second-Team All-Independent honors. I graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies.Currently, I serve as the Safeties Coach at Iowa Central Community College, where I’m passionate about developing student-athletes both on and off the field. My focus is on maximizing each player’s potential — helping them grow as leaders, competitors, and young men. I’m committed to building a culture rooted in accountability, effort, and belief while preparing players to excel at the next level. Before coaching, I worked in athlete marketing and youth engagement — helping scale an NIL startup to over student-athletes and previously serving with the Arizona Cardinals in community engagement to build impactful programs for youth and high school athletes across Arizona. At my core, I’m driven by mentorship, leadership, and the opportunity to influence lives through football. My long-term goal is to coach and recruit at a high level, creating opportunities for athletes to succeed both on the field and in life.Outside of football, I’m a dedicated father who enjoys running, traveling, and connecting with others who share my love for sports, leadership, and personal growth.
