About Marcus Christian
Marcus is the Director of the Patient Support Services Division. He is responsible for several departments and programs, including the Lift Team, Patient Transport, Safe Patient Handling, BEST Team, Walk Team, Fire Relocation, Evacuation Plans, the Mental Health Workers, Special Duty Caregivers, and Tele-Sitters. Marcus has been in healthcare for over twenty (20) years, with most of that experience in leadership with the University. He started his career caring for adults with severe physical and developmental disabilities before transitioning into the hospital setting in 2004. Marcus has a B.S. in Healthcare Administration and attended the Wharton Nursing Leaders Program at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is a certified safe patient handling professional and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). Marcus is a community advocate who enjoys volunteering with groups including Mental Health First Sacramento, APTP Sacramento, and the Party for Socialism and Liberation Sacramento during the weekends and his free time.
