I am a CEDR-accredited mediator at Quadrant Chambers, specialising in the shipping, energy, mining and logistics sectors. I previously spent more than 30 years as a lawyer and partner at HFW, including four years as the firm\'s Managing Partner. I advised clients on regulatory and risk management issues, and disputes arising out of maritime and commercial contracts, corporate transactions and insolvencies. I also spent more than seven years working at P&I clubs, handling protection and indemnity and freight, demurrage and defence claims, and served as President of the UK Chamber of Shipping.As a mediator I have been able to use my experience both at P&I Clubs and in legal practise to deal with a wide range of problems ranging from marine insurance and general maritime disputes to trading and general commercial disputes. I am familiar with or have experience of many of the disputes the subject of the mediations. This has helped me to grasp the problem quickly and identify possible solutions. The ability to understand the problems means that I am very proactive in seeking to help the parties arrive at a solution with minimal delay.
