About Marcus Allen
Marcus Allen currently serves as a Policy Analyst to the DeKalb County, GA Board of Commissioners, striving to develop policies that increase citizens\' quality of life through economic, social, and environmental strategies. He began his career in local government as a Mayor\'s Fellows Intern for the City of Augusta, GA. Born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, Marcus completed his undergraduate studies as well as his Master\'s Degree in Public Administration at Augusta University. During his graduate studies, he was recognized as an International City/County Management Association (ICMA) Local Government Management Fellow. Over the years, he has been active in various student and professional organizations, to include the African-American Male Initiative, Enactus, Georgia County Clerks Association (GCCA), Association of City/County Governments (ACCG), and the National Association of Counties (NACo). He is also a graduate of the New Leaders Council - Augusta Chapter. Marcus and his wife Nia live in Decatur, and are expecting their first child in December 2022.
