Since a layoff in early 2023, which I had to execute (and then be affected myself), the best thing that happened to me was I was able to THINK! I took time to understand what the next 10-12 years of my professional life should be. Results & Conclusion: I have been able to try different things (worry and guilt-free), allow my mind to also think freely about activities and the future in general, generate income to keep my life comfortable, and examine what work/career really means to me. At this point, if I am going to \"give myself\" to a new role/new org, it will have to come with the clear and REAL opportunity to mentor and develop those who are at the beginning or at mid-career. I want organizations and environments where people are actually recognized as their most important assets. If I am being interviewed, I am more interested in hearing FIRST from the workers than anyone else.
