ABOUT MARCO SANTOS

I am a Civil Engineer with knowledge of infrastructure projects (underground utilities, roads, and substation construction); and also with knowledge of building construction. Over the last 10+ years at Aecon Group Inc, I have helped Implement the Project Management Office, as well as developed SOP sheets for Aecon\'s integrated PMS, coordinated, organized, and managed various reporting and finance quality initiatives; Set-up tracked, and analyzed project financial reports, ensured the accuracy of timesheets, period of performance and progress input on all active projects assigned. I\'ve supported project managers in projecting, tracking, and applying cost controls to effectively manage established budgets. I\'ve processed billing activities in SAP for each assigned customer based on negotiated contract terms and collected outstanding invoices based on customer A/R aging while assistingin resolving customer disputes. Prior to joining Aecon, I worked extensively with a Portuguese construction company (ZAGOPE,S.A) as their Civil Engineer on international projects for over 4 years.ZAGOPE - Construções e Engenharia S.A, a company specialized in Public Works and part of the Brazilian Andrade Gutierrez Group, one of the largest private clusters in Latin America, with activities in the sectors of Engineering and Construction, Concessions, Telecommunications, Energy, and Health Services.Since January 2010 I have been responsible for assisting the Project Manager in the overall planning and coordinating of construction activities to ensure projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner on projects with a budget of over $50M. I have knowledge of cost control archived by working closely with the financial department, checking under and over-budget activities to ensure the maximization of the project\'s profit, also collaborated on the monthly Economic and Financial long-term forecast reports for over twelve years. I am good in English and Portuguese, fluent in French, basic understanding of Spanish, and have international Construction experience (Civil Construction and Infrastructure Construction). I have an effective membership (as a Professional Engineer since January 2010) at the Portuguese licensing and regulating body for engineering (Ordem dos Engenheiros).Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association.
