ABOUT MARCO J. MORELLI

I am interested in doing interdisciplinary research, with particular attention to statistical applications and numerical techniques. After a M.Sc. on modelling of fluctuations in the financial market, and a PhD in biophysics where I studied the effects of noise on genetic networks, I spent some time as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Glasgow modelling the evolution of RNA virus and learning how to analyse Next-Generation Sequencing Data. I have presented my work at numerous international meetings and achieved visibility in the field through many international collaborations.I am now a Researcher at the Italian Institute of Technology, where I combine modelling and genomic data analysis to shed light on the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms leading to cancer. Specialties: Big data analysis, tatistical modelling, project writing, coding in R, C, Matlab and Mathematica, oral and written presentation skills. Excellent in problem solving and group working.
