ABOUT MARCO DEL GROSSO
Oraculum Totius Civitatis. That is how Cicero defined jurists in Ancient Rome. By emphasizing the intersection between their legal practice and ability to epitomize the virtues and values of the citizenry they represented, he characterized them as Oracles of the Entire Citizenry. Ever since I read that Latin phrase in high school, I yearned to become a lawyer.I began furthering my aspiration at the University of Macerata, Italy, where a civil law system was all I knew. However, I completed my undergraduate education in Florida while gleaning the rule of stare decisis, case research, and a common-law set of rules. Now a J.D. Candidate at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law, I’m eager to hone legal research and writing while mastering case analysis.Outside of law and work, I try to embrace the definition of the ideal jurist -and citizen- that Cicero exemplified thousands of years ago. That is why I serve underrepresented and underprivileged communities as a community organizer, a mentor, and a friend, both in Italy and in the United States.
