ABOUT MARCO ANASTASIO

I am a qualified Deck Officer holding a Master License Unlimited (II/2) on ships of GT or more. I started my career at sea in 2008 as Deck Cadet at Princess Cruises Line and rose to rank until I reached the position of First Officer in 2017. In 2018, I had the opportunity to move into a shore-side position in the Crisis Department with MSC Cruises Management in the London office as Maritime Support Officer; my duty was to give support to the vessels in case of need and activate the Emergency Group Ashore in case of emergency. In 2019, I moved to the Fleet Operation Department (MSC Cruises Management), covering the Fleet Travelling Instructor & Auditor position. The primary duty of this position was performing ship’s Audits (Nautical) and delivering courses in the Company Training Centre located in Sant Agnello, Italy. This position allowed me to obtain the qualification of instructor (DNV-GL and Italian administration) and Auditor (DNV). In addition to those qualifications, I received accreditation from both NAPA and Wartsila in order to provide types specific courses on the NAPA Test Loading Computer and the Platinum NACOS Core System. In August 2022, I decided to join Carnival Maritime GmbH as Deck & Safety Superintendent for the Fleet Technical Operations. After roughly two years I have been promoted to Ship Superintendent.
