Head of Learning & Development – Duties & Responsibilities • Design and lead the overall L&D strategy aligned with business goals, ensuring development pathways support both corporate and franchise growth. • Oversee and manage all New Store Openings (NSOs) in the UK and internationally, including planning, delivery of training programs, team coordination, and post-opening support. • Develop, implement, and evaluate training programs for all levels – from baristas to management – across corporate and franchise sites. • Create and maintain digital learning content including eModules, onboarding programs, and ongoing development materials via platforms such as MAPAL. • Lead, coach, and develop the internal Training Team, ensuring high performance, engagement, and consistency in training delivery. • Support Franchise Partners by providing training plans, tools, and in-person coaching to ensure alignment with brand standards and operational excellence. • Act as the key L&D liaison for the Operations Team, ensuring training supports operational needs and drives performance improvements. • Manage and maintain strong cross-functional relationships, collaborating with HR, Ops, Marketing, and Tech to deliver integrated learning solutions. • Drive compliance and training completion metrics, ensuring all teams meet required training standards and certifications. • Monitor and respond to feedback, using data and insights to continuously improve training materials, methods, and learner engagement. • Champion cultural integration and team development, especially during NSOs and major transitions, embedding Black Sheep Coffee values in every training touchpoint. • Represent L&D at senior leadership level, providing insights, reporting on KPIs, and contributing to strategic discussions regarding people development. • Coordinate international L&D support, adapting materials and resources to meet the needs of global franchise markets.
