Collaborated, alongside people experiencing homelessness, in advocating for an end to homelessness in DCAdvocating, based on applied research I conducted, for more clean, safe public restrooms in Washington DC. Advocacy led to introductions of a LawPrepared, for Catholic Charities DC, modules providing newcomers to DC and Maryland, with information/resources available: health and health insurance, education, finances, transportation, obtaining a driver\'s license, and others.Training immigrants from Latin American to pass their US citizenship exam in Spanish. As a volunteer with AMICA Center for Immigrant Rights: visiting a detention center in Virginia to assist immigrants to obtain legal representation, doing translations from Spanish to English; interpretation for Spanish speaking immigrants in discussions with AMICA lawyers.Carried out a study in Guatemala to assess the impacts of a program to educate youth whose parents make a living obtaining items from garbage dump that they can sell.
