About Marci Henson

Marci is a mission-driven executive with over 20 years\' experience managing complex, cross-functional and multiagency responsibilities. Her public policy experience includes air quality, climate, energy, urban and environmental planning, transportation, sustainability, water conservation, conservation biology, and public lands. Marci is a skilled communicator with experience briefing officials from the White House, Congress, Governor’s office, and state legislature to regional boards, local elected leaders, and senior executives at the federal, state, and local level. As a trusted brand ambassador, she has testified in high profile settings in the U.S. Congress and Nevada state legislature and has handled dozens of print and television media interviews. A proven collaborator, Marci excels at building effective working relationships with professionals at all levels from a cross section of public and private sectors to deliver board priorities. In 2019, she was tapped by elected leaders to develop the region\'s first comprehensive climate action plan, All In Clark County. She went on to create a regional climate collaborative to strengthen local government coordination and amplify collective impact. From 2017 – 2022, she led the drafting, negotiating, and public engagement process for the Clark County lands bill eventually introduced in Congress as S. 567 – Southern Nevada Economic Development and Conservation Act. In 2024, her collaborative efforts were recognized with an award from the National Association of Counties (NACo) for Leveraging Regional Collaboration to Drive a Sustainable and Resilient Future in Clark County, Nevada.Throughout her career, she has prioritized enriching organizational culture, improving service delivery, and boosting employee engagement. In 2022, her work was recognized with a Best In Category Award for County Administration and Management by NACo. Currently, Marci serves as Director of the Clark County Department of Environment & Sustainability and Administrator of the Clark County Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan. Marci directs Clark County\'s vision for a sustainable community that improves quality of life, supports economic security, and protects the environment. Her portfolio includes directing the County’s regional air quality programs, administering the Clark County Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan, and leading the County’s sustainability and climate action initiatives.
