About Marcelo Z.

Marcelo Zigaran, is a concert cellist, teacher-lecturer, and psychoanalyst. Fellow professor at The Houston Jung Center.Founder and member of the “Duo La note Bleue,” a cello-piano duo. Member of the Houston Latin Philharmonic, with concerts at the Opera house, Wortham Center. As a recitalist and lecturer, he presents his work and is also a consultant in Lacanian Psychoanalysis. Currently he is a member of APOLA. a society of scientific research in Psychoanalysis. He is a published author; his book, Powers of Music, was published in Germany and the US. He is also the author of numerous articles in different journals and congresses. Marcelo taught Cello and Composition at Houston Community College. He is an adjunct professor at The Houston Center for Psychoanalytic Studies and also a Consultant-Lecturer on Lacan theory and clinic at several Psychoanalytic centers. Life Coach. Marcelo made his New York City debut in 2012 after winning the first prize in CORST 2011. In Bellas Artes, Mexico, his debut was in 2014. As a recitalist, with piano, cello solo, and soloist with orchestras, he has performed in many cities in the US, and abroad. In Europe, he has performed in several countries, France, Ireland, and Germany, among others. Frequent soloist in the US, Mexico, Argentina, and South American countries, as a soloist with orchestra, recitals for cello and piano, and presenting Master Classes, lectures, at Conservatories and Universities relating Lacanian psychoanalysis to music-related topics. Marcelo studied with Vagram Saradjian (who was a student of Rostropovich) and obtained his PhD at the University of Houston. He also holds two Master\'s Degrees (Cello Performance and Music Composition) from The University of Missouri, Kansas City. There, he studied with the famous composer Chen Yi. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of the Arts of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and also studied psychoanalysis at The University of Buenos Aires, and several schools of psychoanalytic training. He is a member of the APOLA Center of research in Lacanian psychoanalysis.As a writer and lecturer, Dr. Zigaran participated in many International Congresses of Musicology, Psychoanalysis, Psychology, Cultural and Gender Studies, in the US, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and South America.
