Why I do what I do…. My parents did the best they knew, and we never went without. We had a roof over our heads and food on the table, clothes on our back. My parents’ mindset was that of ‘We can’t afford it’ and ‘money doesn’t grow on trees’. I often remember hearing these two phrases & watching my parents struggle financially. I remember moving often. The move that stood out to me the most was in High School. I was not popular and when I made the cheer squad, I finally felt a part of something. My grades were up, and I was making friends! Then it happened… again…it was my first year of high school, my mom informed me we had 30 days to move. I was devastated! My parents rented their whole lives & I saw the struggle. Moving constantly is expensive and stressful. I think my parents simply did not know it was a possibility to be homeowners. I became a full time Realtor in 2013 and have helped many of my family members become homeowners – including my parents! In 2016 I became a Vacation Rental owner here in the valley and quickly realized the income potential. The difference between short term and long term rentals is substantial! and… it’s not as hard as people think!
