ABOUT MARCELLA SHELBY
The Physical Science Laboratory at NMSU is an applied research lab with capabilities in telemetry, missile systems, information systems, cybersecurity, aerospace, UAS and scientific ballooning. At PSL, Marcella supports strategic business and economic development initiatives, marketing, as well as student employment and co-op opportunities. She is an economics instructor at Dona Ana Community College, part of the NMSU system, and serves on a number of university committees to advance research objectives at NMSU. Marcella has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in economics, research statistics and public administration since 2011 and has a professional background in project, program and nonprofit management. She has worked as a strategic consultant with small businesses and nonprofits throughout the country.Marcella earned her B.S. and MPA from Texas Tech University and Doctorate of Economic Development from New Mexico State University. Marcella is a proud alumna of Kappa Delta Chi Sorority and was named as one of Pacific Coast Business Times\' 40 under 40 honorees in 2020.
