ABOUT MARCELLA FARAONE

I\'m employed by Fs Technology. Head of Competence Center BIM GIS, I\'m responsible for researching new technologies and innovating workflows with BIM and GIS. I have BIM management experience with a deep knowledge of BIM concepts, BIM delivery methods and BIM uses. My work focus mainly on the Design phase and construction follow up of the railway infrastructure projects. I acquired this vast experience in the Red Line North Underground project in Doha, where I have worked from 2014 as MEP BIM Coordinator of the Designers Joint Venture. This project has played a crucial part in my professional life. It was the first time I had the occasion of working on an international and multicultural project. This was also a great improvement from a personal point of view. I’m a firm believer in BIM methodology, so much that, in 2012 I promoted the introduction of BIM in Italferr and started a pilot project with a group of designers. The project was successful and, from that moment on, BIM has widely adopted by Italferr. Before starting work with BIM, I took part in several ICT projects as a Project Manager. During these years I acquired experience in GIS platform and awareness of the great potentiality of GIS analysis. In the last year I have focused my attention in particular on GIS and BIM data integration. During 2018 I\'ve participated as a speaker at ESRI Italia conference where I won the “Smart Infrastructure 2018” award, Autodesk Rail summit, Esri Transportation Summit and Autodesk University. In March 2019 I participated as a speaker at Esri Italian conference and in July at Esri Conference in San Diego. My Team and I received the Special Achievement Award 2019 in GIS fro the work \"Integrated ArcGIS and BIM for the entire Infrastructure Lifecycle Management\"
