About Marcel Fonseca

I\'ve been in the chemical industry for more than 10 years, working in production, engineering, maintenance, projects, and business cases development. Currently, I am the Operations Manager for one production plant, as well as the Shipping and Receiving Manager for Lanxess\' site in Kalama/WA.Some of my recent accomplishments include:• Executed and delivered (within budget and on time) several capital projects at the Weston site, ranging from to $10MM.• Maintenance spending consistently kept under budget (5 to 10% per year), keeping a lean structure at the department and a high OEE at the site.• Successful implementation of PSM’s Mechanical Integrity Program at the site.• Increased the technical department engagement and performance through more effective communication, teamwork and accountability. Previously, I worked as a process/project engineer in large capital projects (up to $200MM) from conceptual engineering through construction. I have had the opportunity to work in different countries such as Germany, USA and Brazil in multicultural and interdisciplinary teams, which helped broaden my horizons. Besides work, I have recently earned my EMBA degree at Michigan State University. It was an exciting and rewarding experience and I am eager to apply my learnings to my work environment.
