WORK HISTORY
Psychotherapist Counsellor @Marcbossetherapy.Com
London, GB
I believe psychotherapy entails more than just listening. Daniel Stern states ‘.in and of itself, verbally understanding, explaining, or narrating something is not sufficient to bring about change.’.(*). There has to be an intersubjective experience, articulated through empathic resonance - this is the micro-world of the present moment. Each present moment captures a subject’s style, preoccupations, turbulence and conflicts. In psychotherapy, we value the sequence of present moments that occur between therapist and client as these offer an opportunity to explore the implicit assumptions underlying the relations we have with ourselves and others. It is in the supportive context of a mutual exploration of our affective world that we can forge novel pathways to improve the quality of our lives.(*) D. Stern, 2004, The Present Moment, W.W Norton & Co: New York.
