ABOUT MARC ZELLER
I work at the intersection of safety, reliability and model-based system engineering, with more than 15 years of experience across industrial R&D, applied research and teaching. My focus is on RAMS, functional safety and model-based reliability and safety engineering for complex technical systems. Over the course of my work at Siemens, Siemens Mobility and Fraunhofer ESK, I have contributed to methods, tools and research programs that support the structured assurance of safety-relevant systems in regulated environments. I work on safety and reliability topics across regulated domains, with experience in relevant functional safety standards such as IEC 61508, ISO 26262, EN 50126, EN 50129, ARP 4761, and SOTIF. My methodological background includes FMEA, FMEDA, Fault Tree Analysis, and model-based systems engineering approaches such as SysML and SysMLv2.My background includes leading work in Model-based Reliability & Safety Engineering, defining research scope and technology roadmaps, contributing to assurance concepts for trustworthy AI/ML-based systems, and supporting the automation of safety engineering activities in modern software delivery contexts. In addition to industrial work, I teach as an Associate Lecturer at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences. I value the combination of technical depth, practical applicability and clear engineering methods.
